The first clip from the upcoming Amy Winehouse documentary, Amy, has been released. The film looks into the life of the late British singer, who battled a history of addiction which led to her untimely death in 2011.
The clip features Winehouse joking around with the video camera, whilst her former manager Nick Schmansky talks about the recording of her early demos; songs that came to life from old poems written by the late singer. From this snapshot, one can expect to see more intimate, never-before-seen footage, along with new interviews with those who knew and worked with Winehouse.
The Winehouse family recently announced that they have "disassociated themselves from the forthcoming film" as they believe the documentary does "a disservice to individuals and families suffering from the complicated affliction of addiction."
Amy will be featured as part of Sydney Film Festival on Saturday 6 June. For tickets, head over to the SFF website.
