Martin Scorsese will be taking the reins of an upcoming Ramones film.
Co-manager of the band's estate, Jeff Jampol, spilled the beans in an interview with Billboard. He also revealed plans for a new documentary (featuring never-before-seen footage), and hinted at a forthcoming book, play, remastered music and more - all to mark the 40th anniversary of Ramones' debut album.
Scorsese has previously directed a number of films based on musicians and bands, such as Bob Dylan, George Harrison, The Rolling Stones and The Band.
The last founding member of Ramones, Tommy Ramone, passed away last month, meaning all founding members are no longer with us. However, these special film and music releases will prove to be a great tribute to the Ramones and their 40th anniversary.
