Everyone's favourite teen, Lorde, has announced Australian tour dates with shows scheduled for April and May this year. Bringing with her, her brand new stage show which she debuted in the States earlier this month. This tour will also include her first Australian all-ages shows.
Recently on our shores for St. Jerome's Laneway Festival, 17-year-old Ella Yelich-O'Connor sacrificed sideshows for a very important date with the Grammys. Scoring two gongs, including Record Of The Year for 'Royals', she then went on to take the Brit Award for Best International Female Artist.
"I'm so pumped," Lorde told Matt & Alex on Triple J Breakfast about her Australian tour. "I've only played the smaller clubs in Australia and the festival [circuit]. I'm ready to play my own shoes in large venues. It's definitely a step up. We've really stepped up our production and light show; it's a whole new thing now. I don't want to give anything away but it's pretty special."
Lorde's debut album Pure Heroine went double platinum in Australia and platinum in the USA. Whilst her single 'Royals' made her the first solo New Zealand artist to top the Billboard 200.
