According to Billboard, Jack White's latest release 'Lazaretto' has become the highest selling vinyl release since 1994.
This is the second record broken by White this year. The first, for the speedy release of 'Lazaretto', which was recorded, packaged and on sale in less than four hours.
The vinyl release of the same album sold 60,000 copies in less than two months. Dubbed the 'Ultra LP', it includes many additional features, such as a secret track hidden under the labels, and dual-groove technology on 'Just One Drink', which plays either an acoustic or electric intro depending on where the needle is dropped.
This revolutionary approach to vinyl by the former frontman of The White Stripes is definitely the start of something new for future vinyl releases.
