This month's edition of Chart Hits is one of the biggest yet! There's a hotly contested battle for the top spot between our favourite ginger Ed Sheeran and hometown pop stars The Veronicas. International DJ's Avicii and Calvin Harris return with two new singles plus we've got fresh tunes from Lorde, OneRepublic and Labrinth.

Ed Sheeran - 'Thinking Out Loud'

Ed Sheeran's latest full length 'X' has topped the album charts in more than ten countries! The British singer/songwriter kicked it off with the upbeat hit 'Sing', followed 'Don't'. However 'Thinking Out Loud' is Sheeran's favourite song from the LP, originally written in the kitchen and later recorded at the tail end of his session with producer Rick Rubin.

The Veronicas - 'You Ruin Me'

It's been almost a decade since The Veronicas released their first album 'The Secret Life Of...', anyone remember '4ever'!? The Aussie sisters have returned to reclaim the number one spot with 'You Ruin Me'. It's not a happy song, but that hasn't stopped the Brisbane natives reclaiming the airwaves. Keep an ear out for The Veronicas forthcoming third studio album, expected early 2015.

Calvin Harris Feat. John Newman - 'Blame'

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has just dropped his new album 'Motion' featuring the chart smash 'Blame'. It follows the hit single 'Summer' and will no doubt be the beginning of more dance anthems to come! English singer John Newman accompanies Harris on 'Blame', this time round it's more pop focused (and not so beat heavy)! 'Motion' features guest stars including Ellie Goulding, Tinashe, Haim, Gwen Stefani and Alesso.

Avicii - 'The Days'

Sweden's Tim Bergling is only 25 years-old and yet he's already had ten Top 20 hits! 'The Days' is his latest, it features Mr. Robbie Williams on vocals and (much like Calvin Harris) is more pop centric than dance floor friendly. Nevertheless, Avicii's popularity continues to soar, with his third album 'Stories' out early next year. When he's not crafting beats, Avicii works with his charity 'House For Hunger' - an all round good guy!
