Ella Henderson - Ghost
Over the past month British singer Ella Henderson has risen to the number 3 spot on the ARIA chart - not bad for a debut single! The 18-year old stepped into the spotlight on the UK's X-Factor and was praised by the likes of Adele and Lily Allen. Ella then teamed up with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder to write 'Ghost', a sure thing given his success penning hits for Beyoncé, Leona Lewis and Maroon 5. Keep an ear out for Ella Henderson's first studio album 'Chapter One', out next month!
George Ezra - Budapest
Introducing George Ezra, a 21-year old songwriter from Hertford, United Kingdom. The singer charged into the top 40 on the back of his breakout song 'Budapest'. Since releasing his debut EP 'Did You Hear The Rain?' in 2013, the newcomer has already dished up a follow up 'Cassy O' and a debut LP called 'Wanted On Voyage'. Not to mention capturing the BBC radio audience and earning himself a spot on the Glastonbury stage! He's on more 'artist to watch' lists than I care to mention due to his folk rawness, honest approach and rootsy songwriting. So yes... one to watch!
Charli XCX - Boom Clap
'The Fault In Our Stars' continues to make a dent in the box office! It's a love story (based on the novel by John Green) that unfolds while the lead characters struggle with serious health issues. So what's that got to do with Charli XCX!? Turns out the soundtrack is also setting sales records, thanks in part to the single 'Boom Clap'. It's follows Charli XCX's chart topper 'What I Like' and her big collaboration with Iggy Azalea on 'Fancy'. The English singer's second full length 'True Romance' is available now.
Andy Grammer - Back Home
Australia has embraced Andy Grammer's latest hit 'Back Home'. In fact, the song is more popular here than in his native United States! The producer and singer has been working hard following the release of his self titled debut in 2011. He's worked with Maroon 5's Matt Wallace, Sam Hollander (of Gym Glass Heroes) and toured with Natasha Bedingfield and Colbie Caillat. This month his second album 'Magazines Or Novels' hits shelves and hard drives, influenced by the catchy sounds of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson and John Mayer.
