Coldplay - Magic
British rock vets Coldplay return with their new single 'Magic' and turn heads with their stripped back sound. The four piece are set to deliver their sixth album 'Ghost Stories' this May! It's tipped to be a "more acoustic collection" than fans have heard before. However, that's the same mantra Coldplay went into the studio with for 'Mylo Xyloto' and it ended up being anything but, so what will end up on 'Ghost Stories' is anyone's guess! 'Magic' jumped straight into the iTunes top ten on release.
Clean Bandit - Rather Be
You may not be familiar with Clean Bandit but I'm pretty sure you've heard their smash hit 'Rather Be'! The Cambridge electro pop group released their debut single 'A+E' in 2012 but failed to crack the top 100. In fact, it wasn't until the quartet put forward their fourth single 'Rather Be' that they made a breakthrough. The song has since reached the top spot in four countries, a perfect lead up to their first LP 'New Eyes' (available mid May).
Lily Allen - Air Balloon
Lily Allen takes cutesy pop to new heights on 'Air Balloon'! The Hammersmith native rocks the pigtails in her sunny new music video. It's already made a dent in the ARIA charts, a feat her last single 'Hard Out There' achieved in 2013. It may have been a few years since Lily released an album but she's sounding as sharp as ever. Keep an ear out for her third full length (out next month) with the title 'Sheezus' - a playful nod to Mr. Kanye West.
Avicii - Addicted To You
Swedish DJ Avicii turned his Euro dance formula on its head for his latest album 'True' (available now). So far we've heard the soulful 'Wake Me Up' and 'You Make Me' plus the country tinged 'Hey Brother'. For the album's fourth single 'Addicted To You', Avicii enlisted the talents of American folk singer Audra Mae. The result isn't far removed from the Basement Jaxx classic 'Good Luck', a dance hit built behind a powerful female vocal. Avicii is on a hot streak and can do no wrong!
