PPCA cracks down on small business owners.
The Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) have been cracking down on small business owners, specifically in the hospitality industry. In December of 2013, the PPCA came under fire as they began legal action against a South Yarra establishment, The Greek Deli & Taverna. In this suit, they are asking for a $60,000 settlement from the owner as they allege that the business had not paid the proper dues to PPCA in over 4 years.
You can avoid these exorbitant fees altogether if you are in the hospitality industry and sign on to our Fareplay license, our PPCA alternative. With Fareplay you get PPCA Free Music for your business at up to a 90% discount off the cost of the PPCA license. With plenty of the most popular hits on a wide variety of playlists available, Fareplay is the industry's preferred PPCA Free music.
