Pepa Knight looks to add some colour to the local indie pop landscape with the release of his eclectic singles 'Clams' and 'Rahh!'. They draw on earthy sounds, sunny melodies and organic instrumentation. It's the work of solo artist Cameron Knight, who cut his teeth as co-frontman with Jinja Safari.
Since posting his debut songs in early 2014, the Central Coast singer has already been praised across the globe. He's even been interviewed by Rolling Stone India! Which makes sense given his forthcoming debut album 'Hypnotized' is inspired by his travels there.
The accomplished sitar player stowed away some makeshift recording equipment during his visit to Rajasthan and Pushkar. The majority of songs for the release were conceived there, along with audio samples - how very Beatles!
During these travels Cameron also learnt to play the bansuri and dholak. What are they? No idea but we'll be hearing them very soon! Pickup 'Clams' and 'Rahh!' at iTunes and keep an ear out for Pepa Knight's debut full length, expected later this year.
