If you've heard of Sydney outfit Cameras, you'd be pleased to know lead vocalist Eleanor Dunlop has been working on new solo material. Channelling French indie-pop artists such as Charlotte Gainsbourg and Carla Bruni, Dunlop has crafted a lush, unique take on French '60s pop.
Dunlop released her debut solo EP way back in 2007, prior to her involvement with Cameras. This included the single 'On Par', which won her triple j Unearthed's Top Song for NSW. After four years, an EP and an album with Cameras, the year 2012 saw her move back into her solo work.
With two new singles released - 'Disguise' and 'Rough Side Of Town' - her solo material sees the fusion of signature Cameras elements and lighter, acoustic melodies. This, coupled with her dark vocals makes for a captivating listen. Her self-titled EP is due to drop on 11 April, with an EP launch show scheduled for 17 April at the Brighton-Up Bar in Sydney.
