Wailing guitars and bent melodies, The Laurels debut record ‘Plains’ spits forth a monstrous wave of psychedelic sound – don’t miss it! The Sydney-based rock act paid their dues in the live arena, touring with Swervedriver, Low, Tame Impala and numerous bands of rock royalty. Their live efforts led to being nominated as the Best Live Music Act in the SMAC Awards (Sydney Music, Arts & Culture Awards). Now after many years in the making, we finally have our hands on The Laurels album!
Inspired by Gerald Murnane’s search for meaning in his novel ‘The Plains’, the band aimed to strip back their sound for the album. Recording took place in a secluded cottage perched in the southern highlands of New South Wales. Producer Liam Judson helmed the project, known for his work with local rockers Cloud Control and Belles Will Ring.
